South Gloucestershire
Introduction
Dyrham Park is situated just outside Bath and is on the main route to the M4 motorway. It has a lot of open spaces to explore as well as some great trees and flowers. There are some lovely cultivated gardens and a pond.
The other new addition is the reintroduction of a herd of Fallow Deer. Twenty five pregnant females and five males. The previous herd were put down after contrasting TB. I will confess that in the two visits since the deer were introduced I’ve not seen a single sign of one. I wll continue to go back from time to time and keep my fingers crossed.

Photo Opportunity
There are some lovely views if you walk around the park as well as some bright flowers to provide a contrast with some close up pictures.
For this shoot I’ve switched to using the 18 – 135mm lens. Imstill using the scene modes such as landscape and close up as they allow me to concentrate on the creative side but for certain types of shot (directly into the sun) I’m starting to switch to Aperture Priority or the Program mode. I also use a polarised filter as well.
It’s a shame that they don’t have any First Light photography days like they do at Stourhead but I’ll keep my fingers crossed. There are a few dates later in the year when you can get into Stourhead at 7.00am. I’ve added a link to the bottom of the blog.
