Bradford on Avon
Introduction
This is an annual event at Bradford on Avon and the start of a number of similar events as we get to the start of summer. There is a Chippenham Folk Festival over the May Bank Holiday that will have many of the same festivities and participants.
There were craft and food stalls, exhibitions, folk dancing as well as many other types of display scattered around the town. It was a good excuse to see the town and explore it a bit more than the usual visits I’ve had before.
I’ve put a few links at the bottom of the blog.

Photo Opportunity
I tried to learn from my experience at the Medieval Festival a few weeks ago and rather than trying to get the perfect image, I tried to capture the spirit and diversity of the time I spent there. I’m happy with the results but I’m not sure that street photography will ever be a passion. It will still be something to practice and hopefully get better at.
The one thing that I did differently for these photos is use a lens filter. I was given a round polarised filter for Christmas and so for this weekend, I tried it out. The sun was out and very strong. A large number of the pictures were taken looking into direct sun light and it has made a big difference to the high contrast type pictures I’ve taken before. I’m not sure I will invest in lots of filters but it’s something I’m currently looking at.
I’ve also been thinking about switching to JPEG rather than RAW that I currently use but before I do this I need to get better at capturing the images using the best settings so I can avoid needing to do lots of adjustments.
