Corsham
Introduction
I’ve been through or around Corsham for as long as I’ve lived in Chippenham but I’ve never really spent the time to really look around. Since taking up Photography as a more serious hobby I’ve had a list of suggestions on places to investigate. Corsham and Corsham Court is one of those places.
Corsham Court and the Peacocks
I’ve had two recent visits to Corsham. The first was a scouting visit to see what took my interest and would make a good subject. For this blog I’ve concentrated on Corsham Court Park but I’ll do another on Corsham Court. There is free parking in the town centre which helps if you just want to have a look around.

One thing that will come as a surprise if you’re new to Corsham is that the Peacocks at Corsham Court are free to roam whereever they wish. It is strange to come across a Peacock walking around the town centre.

Photo opportunity
All of the images were taken at the same time towards the end of the day with the exception of the peacock photo. That was taken on my scouting trip a week or so before. This was also one of the first times I really got to try out my replacement 18mm to 55mm lens after breaking the one I had with the camera. The replacement was a lot sharper and produced better quality images.
I’ve now started to use an app ( Sun On Track ) on my tablet to plan what time of day works best for interesting light. It uses Google Maps to show the path of the sun. It saves a lot of time if you’re looking for a specific type of image.
