Clevedon
Introduction
I’ve been going to Clevedon for most of my life. When I was small I had relatives that had a caravan there. Since then I have friends that live and work there. It’s a lovely quiet place in the morning where you can get a decent breakfast and watch the sea.
Poets Walk
Poets’ Walk is a tranquil route around Church Hill and Wain’s Hill. Its name is a reference to the English poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Alfred Tennyson, who visited Clevedon and were inspired by the time they spent there.
Poet’s Walk is something that I’ve been aware of for a large number of years but never something I Investigated until about 5 or so years ago. It has stunning views over the Bristol Channel and there is an extended walk around the coast that I’ll do in the spring.
As you walk around the Coastal path you can see an Iron Age hill Fort, a WW2 shelter and one of the locations used on the ITV drama Broadchurch, St Andrews church. There is also a great place to sit and contemplate while looking at the Bristol Channel.

Photo opportunity
I’ve been to this place on a regular basis since I discovered it and I’ve found that a sunset is the best time to catch a decent moody sky photo. In the gallery above the final picture is taken fron my first visit on a late afternoon in October 2017.
